Everyone embarking on a new business venture needs a business license. This is because states require some kind of licensing in order for a business to run legally.
I opened a clothing store in Los Angeles recently, and I didnt know that I needed a business license all I thought I needed was a sellers permit and a DBA. However I was told by my store manager that I needed a business license or I could run into some serious fines. I didnt know where to go or what to do and my building inspector was going to show up for a surprise insepction soon. My friend Ashely told me that she got all her paper work for her shoe store business online.It was fast easy and cheap. I went to businessnameusa. I was able to get my business license in asap and missed getting fined by a day!If you are a new business owner I would suggest using these guys because they are fast professional and and you dont do any of the work, they do all the leg work.

Don't forget that if you get a business license, it isn't enough to have it for your business entirely. Every location you have may need its own license, especially if the location is in a different city or area.
What about things other then a business license? What else would you need if, say you were going to start a new business selling frozen yogurt?
If you want to file your legal document for your business as a sole proprietor, you will need DBA (doing business as), federal Id number, and since you are selling taxable items you also required to have seller's permit aka Sales tax permit or Vendor license.
